Hey Hey Hey!

Hi, Shorties! Absence makes the heart grow fonder? Or forgottener? Ha! Well, I haven’t forgotten about my blog. I’ve had a bunch of stuff going on, and I’ve been focusing on them, as well as sleep, over my blog 🙁

We went to Disney

Whoot! We had a blast on our Disney trip! With a family, I highly recommend staying at a cabin in the Fort Wilderness Resort. It was nice because when you opened the door, you were welcomed by fresh air on your own deck. Plus, a must-have at Fort Wilderness is renting a golf cart! Is it expensive? Sure it is! But it’s pretty awesome. (I believe it’s in the “moderate” price bracket of Disney Resorts.) We did parks every day, but you don’t need to- the main pool is big, and has both a splash area and a nice waterslide. We just need to go back so we can spend more time at it 🙂

I had to pack for Disney and subsequently unpack for Disney

If there’s any compelling reason not to travel with kids and be the mom, it’s the packing and unpacking. Whatever, it’s not a huge deal, but … it stinks. It is a pain in the neck on both ends of it.

Lots of singing and teaching singing

I’ve been spending a little more time on these passions of mine, which is all worth it, but indeed takes up some free time. I joined a local community choir this semester which meets once a week, and I sang Palm Sunday, Easter Vigil, and Easter morning masses. Lots of time in my happy place 🙂  Also, I had joined the Mohawk Valley Choral Society, and we performed the Brahms Requiem in early May. Did it in college, and doing it now in my 30s made me feel really old because it was totes taxing!

Celebrated GG’s 90th Birthday

Yay! My kids are so fortunate that they have 4 grandparents and a great grandparent! Tallest Tallman’s grandma just turned 90, and we had a big surprise pool party for her, and all the cousins and aunts and uncles came into town. Tallest Tallman has been working a ton on the pool project, and it was ready just in time for the big party. It was a little close! But it was a huge success.

Got some unexpected news about my job

I can’t talk about it yet, but I was hoping for something different than what transpired. So that’s been a thing.

I got bangs

What!!! It’s a big deal! 😂

We went to Italy

In Rome! www.theshortesttallman.com

In front of a fountain in Rome. My straightener didn’t work with European outlets so… that was sad.

Italy Italy, not the Italy in Epcot (which is lovely, as well). Our friends at Bridgestone took us on the trip of a lifetime for being good doobies. And yes- it was senza kids!!! It was really hard to leave them, but they were in very good and capable hands with grandparents. Back to packing again- I had to pack for them to be with their grandparents for a week, and I had to strategically pack for myself. It was a little tricky, because this trip involved lots of business casual attire and some casual attire (but not SAHM casual!). Plus, we’re talking long, transcontinental flights. Was very thankful for all you travel bloggers out there for all the great advice on what to pack in my carry-on!

Planning for major events

www.theshortesttallman.com

My MIL made Little Tallman’s First Communion dress out of my wedding dress. I know!!!! It was so awesome! She did a phenomenal job!

If all this wasn’t enough, my oldest received her First Penance and First Communion; my middle had a dance recital the day before Mother’s Day; my sister-in-law had her Baby Shower the day after we got back from Italy; Tiny Tallman had his second set of tubes for his ears the day after the shower; and it was Birthday season for all 3 of our kids.

May was a blur. So was June. And it rained a whole lot. Which shouldn’t matter in the slightest, but it frikkin mattered a lot! ☔

So, all good things, praise God for that. All. Good. Things. Well, I guess with the exception of Tiny Tallman’s surgery! That is not a good thing. But, a minor surgery to fix a major ear problem is ok I guess.

So, I’m here, hope you’re still here. I’m gonna keep on writing if you’ll keep on reading!

xoxo,
Maggie
